Free Cancer Clinic
Our free cancer clinic is held on the first Saturday of every month at Narayan Medical College (Jamuhar), from 10 AM onwards, with free consultation and treatment planning โ and referral to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment when needed. Patients who need regular check-ups after treatment don't need to travel to bigger cities every time โ the same service is available at their doorstep. A team of volunteers headed by Sri Ratan Kumar coordinates all the help patients need, and for those with terminal-stage cancer, palliative care is arranged with the help of pain and palliative care experts. There are no registration charges, though certain outside investigations may be required. Please confirm the schedule before coming, or call our helpline.

Advanced Treatment Support โ AIIMS Delhi
For patients who need advanced treatment, we help with referral to AIIMS Delhi. You can consult the doctor without a prior appointment on Wednesdays from 9 AM โ 12 PM (Cancer Hospital / IRCH, Room #5, Ground Floor) or Fridays from 2 PM โ 4 PM (Room #6, Ground Floor) โ OPD card and registration are made on the spot. Please be prepared to stay in Delhi for a minimum of one week. Always bring a patient along with all previous investigation reports, any biopsy slides (contact the original pathology lab in advance to avoid repeating the biopsy), CT/MRI films or plates, and your BPL card, ration card, or income certificate if you have one. If all reports (including biopsy) are ready, treatment is usually planned within a week; otherwise it may take 2โ3 weeks. Once one modality of treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy) is complete, follow up with your doctor for the full treatment plan โ some follow-up chemotherapy or radiotherapy can also be completed locally at Dehri-on-Sone, Patna, or Varanasi.
Transportation Assistance
Getting to treatment shouldn't be a barrier to receiving it.
- ๐Indian Railways provides a travel subsidy for cancer patients โ free travel for the patient and 25% off the ticket cost for one attendant, both to and from the hometown
- ๐You'll need a railway concession form signed by the treating doctor to avail this subsidy
- ๐Mention your hometown address at the time of registration, not your local address in Delhi
Accommodation Support
For patients travelling from outside the city for treatment.
- ๐ AIIMS has two patient guest houses opposite the hospital โ Rajgarhia and Surekha Vishram Sadan โ offering subsidized stays; the form needs to be signed by your treating doctor
- ๐ Private rooms are also available in the Yusuf Sarai area near AIIMS, at varying rates
- ๐ Guidance for families accompanying patients during long treatment cycles
Financial Aid & Government Schemes
Cancer treatment can be expensive, but AIIMS provides investigations and treatment at highly subsidized rates โ for example, CT Scan โน750, Ultrasound โน200, Blood investigations free, X-ray โน30, Surgery โน1,000โโน10,000 depending on the procedure, and Radiotherapy โน750. All of this is free of cost for BPL card holders. If you don't have a BPL card, here are schemes and forms of aid worth exploring alongside support from our foundation.
Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY)
National health insurance scheme covering hospitalization costs, including cancer treatment, for eligible families.
Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF)
Central government fund providing financial assistance to cancer patients below the poverty line.
Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF)
Central relief fund providing financial assistance to needy cancer patients for treatment.
State Illness Assistance Funds
Many state governments run their own funds for cancer and other critical illnesses โ eligibility varies by state.
Required documents typically include an income certificate (below โน3,000/month), a ration card, and the scheme's application form. Contact the Medical & Social Officer (MSO) at your treating hospital to get the form and submit it โ scheme details and eligibility change over time, so please confirm current terms before applying.
